Alignment & Remediation Report

This report repackages AFP's cost/utilization findings into a structured work order you can hand to an external IT contractor or managed service provider — AFP itself stays read-only and never makes these changes for you. Every current Advisor recommendation and Rightsizing candidate is included below; where a monthly-savings estimate can't be computed, the row explains why instead of omitting it. Two rows also surface Azure's own native alert types AFP doesn't (or can't) surface results for directly — Cost Anomaly Alerts and Reservation Utilization Alerts — with instructions for enabling them in the Azure Portal.

Enable Azure Cost Anomaly Alerts Not configured → Alert type: Anomaly Azure Cost Management's built-in ML-based anomaly detection (free, no build required) flags an unusual daily spend pattern against a 60-day baseline before it shows up on the invoice. AFP confirmed no scheduled action of this kind exists yet for this subscription. AFP stays read-only and cannot create this alert rule or read back its detection results once created (Microsoft delivers them by email only) — enable it directly: Azure Portal → Cost Management + Billing → Cost alerts → + Add → Alert type: Anomaly. N/A
Prevents unexpected spend surprises; Azure does not publish a projected-savings figure for this alert type.

Consider enabling native Reservation Utilization Alerts Status unknown — needs a billing-profile-scope permission AFP doesn't hold → Alert type: Reservation utilization Azure's native reservation-utilization alert rule notifies you when purchased reservation commitment goes underused — distinct from AFP's own computed utilization view on the Reservations page, which stays as-is. This alert rule lives at billing-account/billing-profile scope, not subscription scope, so AFP cannot detect whether one already exists without a new Billing Profile Reader-tier grant (see docs/architecture/security-rbac.md's "Fifth permission" section) — enable/review it directly: Azure Portal → Cost Management + Billing (billing profile scope) → Cost alerts → + Add → Alert type: Reservation utilization. N/A
Prevents unexpected spend surprises; Azure does not publish a projected-savings figure for this alert type.

Review whether geo-redundancy is required for this data, or switch to LRS/ZRS to reduce cost. Microsoft.Storage/storageAccounts: stbhappdata01 Storage account "stbhappdata01" uses GZRS replication, which costs more than locally redundant storage. N/A

Right-size to a smaller SKU or shut this virtual machine down during idle periods to reduce cost. Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines: vm-bh-app-01 Virtual machine "vm-bh-app-01" has averaged 10.69% CPU, below a typical utilization threshold. N/A
